This is not the first fantasy story in the history of mankind. Stories, there was a lot. But this one has a particularity.
First, it announces the end of the world, that is the worst thing.
Second, it is effective in an era where information travels at the speed of light, and everything is recorded. The old stories of this magnitude have been stifled by the lack of dissemination of information and lack of archive. So today, it is difficult to identify these early events. There, everyone will be aware of everything and see live what happens.
It is in a short time, and it seems to disturb mankind, but that little change.
Reflecting on this prophecy, I imagined an alternative scenario.

Imagine ...

A few months before the disaster. The protests of the faithful multiply and are becoming more intense. Skeptics will say that these people are fanatics and the sick but emmerdent everyone. Even if everyone goes about his business and his life continues, frightening atmosphere prevails. We avoid talking about it, but there is a small ball in each. The images of natural disasters and conflicts begin to seriously disturbing.

A few weeks before the disaster. Madmen commit criminal acts on behalf of the end of the world. These fanatics become an issue for law enforcement before the stup, arms trafficking, rape ... Many people who do not manifest themselves until then, began to join the movement. Event using any negative about them: natural disaster, presidential elections, and even the consequences of their own mess. Even the skeptics say "shit, and if it was true". Anxiety and everywhere. The number of work stoppages due to depression increases, so that many domain idle.

A few days before the disaster. We believe it or not, everyone thinks the end of the world. Assault, suicide, ritual ... Many people firmly believe the end of the world or lose situation weakened by reason. Biggest thing is working properly. Everyone is afraid of everybody. The unpredictable reactions of some people make it extremely suspicious. We try to do what you have to do, hoping she will not die, neither fools nor the end of the world. Scientists are trying to reassure people by saying that there is nothing dangerous in sight. But the atmosphere of civil war is too strong, then, is that if a disaster happened scientists would tell us??

Hours before the disaster. Things do not work, the world is frozen. Everyone tries to get a living wage for the next 24 hours while preparing to fight with anybody. Flights from mass killings have taken a disastrous scale. Some continue to brave their own risk work, especially under pressure from the government whose only concern now is to maintain order. Nuclear power plants, hospitals ... are maintained in good condition but with a large police surveillance. But the population suffers. "We're going to die," even if it's not the end of the world, it will be through the collective madness. It saved his skin for the next few hours, the minutes ahead.

22/12/2012: The cold shower. We're not dead. It has not happened. Everyone thought we going to spend, it was so obvious, you could feel the end of the world at the end of our trip. But nothing ...
It was believed that story. We went crazy. What we have been con! What we did?!
The end of the world does not exist! All these stories we are talking about monumental bullshit! Why tell stories? And why believe it? It is too painful! We never believe the stories! Never again!
We must rebuild. It has to work. So we all work very hard. Nobody talks, work like robots. While we're all very happy and relieved to be alive there is a terrible bitterness. As a huge mess, a disgust of our naivete. We would like to celebrate our survival, but it has to work. And what have we survived? The end of the world? It does not exist, it is a story. We just survived our madness.
But it's over all that. Life has no meaning. God, ghosts, alien, hope ... all this is bullshit. We were children who wanted to believe, but now we're adults, we no longer believe in anything ever!
